Shoe Drawings!

It is the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year and we have jumped right into practicing our drawing skills. The best, and most challenging way to learn is to draw from life; looking at and observing the world around us.

Students were asked to take off their shoe, and place it in front of them. Here they could observe the common object and begin to accurately render it in a two dimensional drawing.

Using Contour Line, the students studied and recorded the proportions of the shoe. Once the shoe was accurately mapped out, the students then applied value and texture to create 3D illusions and make their drawing look and feel like their shoe!
